The Operations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of LAND’s daily operations.⁠ ⁠ Who we are looking for:⁠ ⁠ - You have 2+ years of experience in operations, administration, or related roles, preferably in the nonprofit sector⁠ - People who know you rave about your organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects⁠ - You operate with the expectation that projects don’t always go as planned and are able to problem solve, think creatively, and shift gears to ensure a project isn’t derailed⁠ - You thrive within a highly collaborative, small team environment where members are trusted to manage their responsibilities autonomously in support of a shared goal⁠ ⁠ Read more about the position at the link in our bio. Join us on Thursday, November 7 at the LAND HQ to Join us on Thursday, November 7 at the LAND HQ to celebrate the launch of 2024 MOHN Grant artist @daidroy.jpg’s project, “S.H.R.O.O.M. (Sustainable Hybrid Rocket Optimization with Organic Materials).”  🚀 Artist and mycologist Sam Shoemaker will deliver a presentation on the conceptualization and development of the mycelium-based rocket propellant, which will be followed by musical sets by Pablo Perez, Michael James Gross, and ézili jean.  In addition, an exhibition of drawings, videos, and sculptures related to the development of “S.H.R.O.O.M.” will be on display.  ⁠ Free to attend, RSVP at the link in bio.

Momin, the exhibition included seven temporary commissions throughout Los Angeles by Mexican artists. Seen here is one of those commissions, “Untitled” (2010) by Teresa Margolles. Shown in collaboration with @lacma, the work featured six custom-made concrete benches exhibited on the museum’s campus. As LAND celebrates our 15th anniversary, we’re looking back at some of the projects and programs that underscore our mission of connecting people and places through site-responsive art.
