You may have heard that LAND has some big projects in the works so our team is growing! We are excited to add this new, full-time position to the team to support with the production of LAND’s site-specific public exhibitions, installations and programs, working closely on our multi-year presentation of Lauren Halsey’s sister dreamer, opening next spring in South Central LA.⁠

Who you are-⁠
-Have 5+ years of experience with art production including executing large-scale, site-specific projects⁠
-You’ve built effective relationships with artists, fabricators, architects, construction teams, engineers and more⁠
-You thrive in working within a highly collaborative small team environment ⁠
-People who know you well rave about your organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects⁠
-Are comfortable managing complex budgets⁠

LAND presents Lita Albuquerque: Malibu Line⁠

Lita Albuquerque: Malibu Line is a new iteration of the celebrated artist’s first ephemeral pigment earthwork. Originally created in 1978, Malibu Line was a direct mark on the land that connected the viewer to the earth and to the horizon. By virtue of a slight optical illusion, the line both spatially and symbolically linked land to sky, and sky to the ocean horizon beyond. The artwork signaled a turning point in Albuquerque’s practice. Instead of painting on two dimensional surfaces, Albuquerque began to create on the earth, drawing the viewer’s attention to a relationship outside of themselves and to the land.⁠

The new iteration of Malibu Line commences a multi-year project in which Albuquerque will connect her current home in California with her first home in Tunisia by way of a second pigment installation. With the ocean serving as the conductor between these two sites, Albuquerque uses the planet to create expansive perspective shifting artworks.⁠
