New Goal: $25,000 for Sense of Place Catalog

Thanks to our amazing community, LAND surpassed our initial $15,000 goal in less than three days! There is still much more to support… Our new goal is $25,000 for the creation of the post-exhibition catalog, which will document the sites, programming and various stages of transformation of Sense of Place. It will include 20 thematic essays by different Mexican and Los Angeles-based authors, including community members, artists, critics and theorists bringing together the many voices who will participate in the project. Please help us continue the momentum to bring this catalog to full color print!

Donate to LAND and support the commission of a truly unique, ambitious, and far reaching work of public art called Sense of Place by Guadalajara-based artist Jose Dávila. This exhibition is part of Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, an initiative which seeks to explore the deep artistic connections between Los Angeles and Latin America led by the Getty. Sense of Place is a multi-site, large-scale public sculpture exhibition migrating through the diverse urban landscapes of Los Angeles.

LAND presents this engaging exhibition throughout Los Angeles with free public programming designed to create meaningful new ways to visit diverse neighborhoods and develop deeper intimacy with the city. Sense of Place is the only public sculpture in PST: LA/LA, Dávila’s largest exhibition to date and his first solo exhibition in Los Angeles!
