“Quintana found that cyanotypes — once used for architectural designs — could serve as an emotional and cultural blueprint of L.A. This art form would allow him to engage with subjects, bringing people, objects and locales into focus while adding context to signage and exteriors like walls, gates and sidewalks, which Street View often neglects. The manual approach of cyanotypes, countering the rapidness of Google technology and digital characteristics, offered Quintana time to thoughtfully develop the image.”

LAND is thrilled to be participating at Frieze Los Angeles @friezeofficial this year with a solo booth by @felixfquintana in the nonprofit tent alongside @gyopo.us @peoplespotteryproject @ambosproject @gallery90220 @reparations.club.

We will be presenting a selection of unique artworks for sale in support of our multisite exhibition with Felix, fantasma paraiso / phantom paradise currently on view @plazamexicola and @artdivisionla.

Entrance to the nonprofit tent is free and does not require tickets to the main fair. Come say hi!
